"Colour
is essential to convey the mood of a painting, while textures
provide the backdrop. . ."

Deciding to pursue art full time gave
me an opportunity to explore oil paint as a means of creative
expression without boundaries. Its unique versatility opened
the doors to my creativity allowing for an inspirational freedom
that is not always possible with other mediums.
Using this very old, traditional medium, I began to experiment
with new textures and techniques to achieve exciting and unconventional
effects. The possibility for experimentation is endless and
I have often added sand, water and many other things to achieve
new and interesting textures, but textures alone, do not make
a painting. They serve to provide a backdrop on which to make
my statement - the composition, colour, concept and design
all play an integral part of the finished piece.
